Hearing set on custody of missing woman’s twins

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A hearing has been set to determine whether twins of a missing Floridawoman should stay in the custody of the Department of Children and Families or be returned to the home of her former fiancé. Police say he is now the primary suspect in her disappearance.

The hearing Wednesday in Orlando juvenile court comes a day after DCF officials removed Michelle Parker’s 3-year-old twins from the home of 40-year-old Dale Smith.

Orlando’s police chief says Smith is the focus of the investigation into Parker’s disappearance on Nov. 17.

That was the same day an episode of “The People’s Court aired in which Parker and Smith argued over whom was responsible for the cost of a missing engagement ring.

Smith’s attorney says his client has done nothing wrong.
