Cops: Woman Tries To Run Over Man With 18-Month-Old In Front Seat

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — Tampa police say a woman attempted to run over the father of their 18-month old daughter while the child was in the front seat.

Tampa police have charged Tamira Willis, 29, with aggravated assault, aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to police reports obtained by CBS Tampa, Willis went to pick up her daughter from Curtis Lee Roberts’ house Sunday afternoon. As she did, the two began to argue.

Willis took the girl and put her in the car’s front seat unsecured. Willis then drove her car through a chain linked fence at the 49-year-old Roberts.

Roberts had to jump onto the porch for safety as Willis struck the house.

As she tried to hit him, the child flew forward, striking her head on the dashboard which left a large bump on her forehead.

Willis then secured the baby in the backseat before fleeing the scene. Police eventually located and arrested her.

The baby was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment. She was then released to the Department of Children and Family.
