Coast Guard finds missing boaters

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard has found three Orlando boaters who went missing during a fishing trip off the coast of Clearwater.

Authorities say the men were safe Friday afternoon when the Coast Guard found their boat about 60 miles west-southwest of St. Petersburg.

The men had set out aboard a 22-foot pleasure craft Wednesday afternoon and were due to return Thursday evening. When they didn’t return, a family member reported them missing.

The Coast Guard dispatched a pair of aircraft and a cutter to search the waters for the men.

Officials say the missing vessel was fully stocked with safety equipment and supplies.
