Whether you are an active service member, retired military, or just looking for a way to thank those men and women for their services there will be many activities to help celebrate Veterans Day in Tampa Bay.

Here are 6 of the best Veterans Day events going on in the Tampa Bay area for the weekend of 11.11.11.

The Tampa Bay Veterans Day Parade

This Saturday, November 12th, give thanks and honor those that have served our country at the Tampa Bay Veterans Day Parade. An event for all ages, so grab the family and find a spot along the route. Grand Marshall, Colonel Lenny J. Richoux, will kick off the two and a half hour march at 10am, but it is encouraged to show up early since all cross streets will close at 9am.

Florida Aquarium

On November 11th, active and retired service members can spend the day exploring exhibits and Florida’s marine life for free between the hours of 9:30am to 5pm.

Cost: Veterans receive free admission for themselves and one guest, and up to four additional family members can enjoy 50% off admission costs.

Busch Gardens

The Hero-Salute program from Anheuser-Busch Parks, gives back to active military with complementary theme park passes. Once a year active military, and up to three direct family members can enjoy the park, on any day of their choosing (some restrictions apply).

Cost: Free admission for active duty service members and up to 3 guests.

MOSI Museum of Science and Industry

From November 11th to the 13th all active and retired military, as well as police and firefighters, can receive the reduced admission cost of $5.

Cost: $5 admission for all active military, retired military, police, and firefighters.

Dali Museum Wish Tree and Veterans Day Celebration

The Dali Museum’s, Our Wishes on 11.11.11, invites the community to share their appreciation for our country’s past and present armed forces members. Come write, hang and share your “thank-yous” on the wish tree and at 11am the live broadcast could include your thank you letter.

Cost: Free for active and retired military, firefighters and police. $11 for family members and regular admission costs for the general public.

Tampa Greek Festival

Beginning November 11th and running through the weekend until the 13th, the St. John Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek Festival. Come enjoy music, food, and the Greek culture with military members and family receiving complementary entry.

Cost: Free admission all weekend to military members,  family of military members, and children under 12. From 11am-4pm Friday everyone is free. The rest of the weekend the cost is $1 in advanced, or $2 at the door.
