MacDill’s AirFest: Best Chance to See Military Planes up Close in Tampa

AirFest 2011 at Tampa’s MacDill Air Force Base will be Saturday and Sunday November 5th and 6th.

In 2010 just shy of 250,000 spectators attended AirFest last year. This is a FREE, family-friendly event. The 2-day event will feature U.S. Special Operations Command Jump Team, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and more!

Tampa Bay’s Country Radio Station WQYK will be on site from 9a – 5p on Saturday, November 5.  Stop by the WQYK tent and register to win an autographed Toby Keith guitar.

What to Bring to AirFest and What Not To:
All AirFest attendees must not bring prohibited items to the air show.  For a complete list of what is allowed and what is not allow on the Base plus, additional information go to the AirFest website.

Be prepared for heavy traffic upon entering AirFest and when leaving.

The Dale Mabry and MacDill Gates are open to the general public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Once the spectator parking lots are full on base, the gates will close to motor traffic.

Only foot traffic or public transportation will be authorized for the remainder of the day.
