2 death penalty trials begin in Hillsborough Co.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Two high-profile death penalty trials are starting in Hillsborough County this week, which means court staff is mobilizing hundreds of potential jurors.

Humberto Delgado Jr. is accused of killing Tampa police Cpl. Michael Roberts in August 2009. Jury selection began Monday but problems with a copy machine delayed the process.

Vincent Brown is accused of killing Jennifer Johnson, the mother of their child. Johnson was found dead in a foreclosed home.

About 150 potential jurors per trial will be questioned this week.
