There is so much going on this Halloween weekend it’s overwhelming to try to decide what to do. Here are a few prime choices for fun this weekend.

Saturday It’s Guavaween in Ybor City
Guavaween is a family affair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday the 29th. Family FunFest offers Safe trick-or-treating, a spooky story time, many hands-on activities, appearances by Tampa sports mascots and cheerleaders, safety education, exhibits, and a children’s costume contest and parade.

Starting at 3 p.m. Ybor City becomes an adults only costume party. Revelers will enjoy multiple outdoor concerts, Mama Guava’s Stumble Parade, costume contest, night clubs, restaurants, and 50,000 people between the ages of 21-54 just looking to party in the ‘Big Guava’.

Headliners for the adults only concert Saturday night are two-time Grammy-nominated Tonic, and Platinum and Gold Album selling EVE6. On the Q105 Stage Coo Coo Ca Choo – A Tampa Bay favorite with unbelievable vocal harmonies similar to the Beatles. The group is led by Rodney Justo, currently the lead singer for Atlanta Rhythm Section.

The Costume Contest will be at 10:00 PM.

All stages will have continuous music with station DJs, both before and after live sets. And of course, there will be a break at 8:00 PM for the return of the motorized-parade lead by Grand Marshall “Mama Guava.”

Last weekend for Both ZooBoo and Howl-O-Scream

ZooBoo
Lowry Park’s ZooBoo is all about great family fun this weekend in Tampa. ZooBoo is an annual family friendly Halloween event that thrills all ages.There there are haunted houses and trails for older zoo-goers, boo houses and seasonal lights for little ones all at $10 a head…or should I say per body. ZooBoo runs until October 30th.  Admission prices: $17 adults (ages 12 & up) $14 children (ages 3 – 11) Lowry Park Zoo is located at 1101 W Sligh Avenue in Tampa.

HOWL-O-SCREAM
Get ready to SCREAM loud and often this weekend at Busch Gardens’  “Howl-O-Scream”. There will be haunted houses, scare zones, roller coasters in the dark and spooky live shows.This year’s theme is “The Dark Side of the Gardens”.  Howl-O-Scream runs Thursday through Saturday nights from September 29th to October 29th. General admission at the gate is $77.99. If you buy your tickets in advance online you save $25 with the $52.99 online price. There are promotional offers that can save you up to $35 per ticket, for more information go to their website at: howloscream.com.

Your Howl-O-Scream ticket gets you into the park anytime after 5pm to ride other rides, but the spooky stuff doesn’t start until 7:30PM. Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa will open this Thursday, September 29th. Hours are:  Thursdays 7:30PM till 1AM , Fridays and Saturdays 7:30PM to 2AM.
No guests in costumes admitted.

Haunted Houses and Ghost Busting with Ghost Tours
If you’re looking for authentic haunted mansions or, would like to hunt for ghosts by candlelight, Ghost Tours has the haunting good time you’re looking for.

Ghost tours are 90 minute candlelight walking tours with fully costumed guides who entertain you with true stories of wandering spirits, haunted mansions, phantom lovers and age-old curses.

Ghost Tours have five different tour locations to choice from: Tampa, St. Petersburg,  John’s Pass , Jungle Prada , and Gulf Port .

Oktoberfest
Friday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.
Tampa Bay Downs
Tampa Bay Downs is holding a Oktoberfest under a huge Munich style tent. There will be music by Oktoberfest Express and Europa and of course, German style food and festival style foods. There will also be a carnival with games. Adult contests will include stein holding, log sawing, barrel rolling and keg tossing. Clearwater’s Blast Friday
This family-friendly street celebration includes entertainment, vendors, food, family activities for the entire family and contests. The Fabulous Thunderbirds will be live and rocking the Blast with their  there will also be a Halloween costume contest, and participating merchants will offer trick-or-treating for the kids. At 10 p.m., the Capitol Theater will present a screening of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. 5:30 p.m. Free. Cleveland Street District, downtown Clearwater.

Radley Haunted House
Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29th & 30th from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Scary music, dim lights and incredibly realistic props help make this a theme park-worthy Haunted House. It’s located off the 38th Avenue exit at I-75. 8 and up can handle this scary and intense Haunted House.

Saturday 29
Tampa Bay Lightning: vs. Winnipeg Jets
Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
St. Pete Times Forum

There’s a brand-new look at the Times Forum. Hang out before the game on the new party deck at the 300 level. There are also plush new seats and cup holders and redsigned menues. Go Lightning!

Monday 31
Boo Bash
There are many free Halloween events some big and some small. This larger Boo Bash stands out as an outstanding safe community Halloween event. There will be many interactive areas for kids including games, hayrides, haunted house and candy. 5:30 p.m., Bright House Field, 601 N. Old Coachman Road, Clearwater. Free.
