Florida Authorities Accuse Drunk Couple of Letting 9-Year-Old Son Drive

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — Florida authorities accuse a Wyoming couple of letting their 9-year-old son drive them around because they were drunk.

Nathan Sikkenga, 31, and his wife were stopped by Orange County police last Saturday after their van collided with a security arm bar inside the Sheraton Vistana Resort.

Sikkenga told deputies that he and his wife were under the influence of alcohol and instructed their son to drive. He was arrested and charged with neglecting a child without great harm.

Sikkenga was released on $2,000 bond.
