Another Buccaneers Game Blacked-Out in Tampa

Tampa Bay football fans will yet again be denied local TV coverage of another Buccaneer home game.

Sunday’s Saints at Tampa Bay will be a black out due to a non-sell out.

The bright spot for far in Tampa Bay’s home game black-out streak was the October 3 “Monday Night Football” home game against Indianapolis. The sell out of that game ended the consecutive regular-season blackout streak that began in 2010.

Tampa Bay was the only NFL team to have all eight regular-season games blacked out in 2010.  Before 2010 the Buccaneers sold out every game at Raymond James Stadium since it opened in 1998.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers are mostly likely asking themselves the same question the Rays are asking, where are all the fans?

With an unemployment rate hovering between 10 and 11 percent and the foreclosure rates close to the highest in the country, the answer is easy to figure out. The fans are sitting at home broke and unable to watch their team play a televised home game.
