Rays Lose Series With O’s, Head to Boston for Crucial Four-Game Set

By Bradley Walker, 1010 Sports

Baltimore(CBS) With Boston’s loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday, the Rays had a chance to capitalize and gain a game in the AL Wild Card race. But it simply didn’t happen.

The spotty play from Tampa Bay has really hurt them down the stretch, and after the 6-2 loss last night they drop to four games behind the Red Sox heading into tonight’s start of a four-game series at Fenway Park.

Baltimore’s season may be finished, but their performance last night was a good indication of why the team can still compete in the American League East.

The three-game series with the O’s could have been a monumental boost for Tampa Bay, but they dropped 2-of-3 and still have some work to do to catch the Sox.

The Rays get their shot at Boston starting tonight at 7:10 PM ET.
