Mema’s Alaskan Tacos is late night, fast-casual dining at its finest (well not really, but it’s really good). Mema’s is the perfect place for a quick bite and one of the best tacos Tampa has to offer, anytime of the day.
Not only does Mema’s provide its diners with a one-of-a-kind eclectic atmosphere, it serves up tacos in a way most diners have never experienced: the meat and shell are pan-fried together. The chicken and the fish tacos are indescribably delicious.
Mema’s is a refreshingly unique taco joint that will bring you back time and time again. Be sure to try the guacamole and sangria while you’re there, you’ll be glad you did.

This place is definitely a place that you would drive by everyday and never think to stop. (I actually did this for a while.) Thankfully I had a friend take me here one day and I fell in love. The tacos are fresh and everything is made to order. I had the fish (tempura Grouper) tacos exactly how the come with tomatoes, onions, cilantro, shredded cabbage and some sort of hot sauce. They were absolutely delicious! I ordered two of them and could barely finish the second one because they were so filling. For those who maybe aren’t so keen on fish they also have carne asada, pork, beef, chicken or vegetarian.
Their menu also consists of all the other good stuff like burritos, quesadillas and tostadas, to name a few… and something I have never seen before, perfectly named “Surfer Munchies,” which is marinated carrots, onions and jalapenos, all served in a plastic baggy.
This place was even featured on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” I’m not quite sure which one this is, but it’s definitely worth trying out!
